Meet Cosmo

Hi, I'm Cosmo. My Main Street friends also sometimes call me Puppy Boy. I'm a purebred Labrador Retriever who came to visit Main Street Vet because I couldn't keep food down when I weaned from my mama. Unfortunately, my owners were unable to provide for the cost of testing and possible treatments so Dr. DiMaio took me in to try to save me. I spent some time getting tests done, and a lot of time playing, napping, and visiting with all my new friends at Main Street Vet. 

Tests showed I was born with a condition that prevents me from swallowing food correctly. An amazing group called Furry Tales Rescue stepped in to partner with Main Street Vet to try to get the help I need. Everyone wanted me to get better and find a forever family. They tell me I need surgery with a special surgeon to fix my condition, and make it so I can eat like other dogs. I have so much fun playing and meeting new people, but my biggest dream is to get better so I can find my forever family. I hear that my surgery is going to be expensive, but the doctors I've met are all hopeful that I'll be able to have a long and happy life once I recover.

The awesome people at Furry Tales and Main Street Vet are doing everything they can to make sure I get the care I need to get healthy. That's why they are sharing my story with others, so other people can hear my story and share in my journey. Even though I was born with some health challenges, I'm still a puppy and enjoy doing all the regular puppy things, including making as many new friends as possible. 

Even though I'm not ready for a new family right now, my biggest dream is to find my special forever family and start making a lifetime of memories with them. That's what I think being a good dog is all about, right? And I can't wait to be the best dog I can be.
