At Main Street Vet, we are proud to offer on-site orthopedic and specialty surgical options. Through our partnership with Dr. Michaela Gruenheid, our team can assess and treat complex surgical needs in-house that would otherwise require a referral to a specialty hospital.
Dr. Gruenheid is a board-certified surgeon who specializes in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. She has an extensive surgical background both in the US, as well as her home country of Germany. Dr. Gruenheid authored a paper that discusses the anesthetic risks in brachycephalic dogs, and her special interests include fracture management, orthopedic surgeries, airway surgery, and thoracic surgery.
Through using advanced techniques and imaging, highly trained nursing staff, and our team of doctors, including Dr. Gruenheid, your pet will be in the best of hands if they should ever require complex surgery.
Your pet's Main Street Vet doctor will discuss your options with you in-depth if the need arises for a complex surgical procedure. Your pet will receive a consult with Dr. Gruenheid, who will work together with your pet's primary veterinarian to come up with the treatment plan that best fits the unique needs of your pet. While surgery can be stressful for both you and your pet, at Main Street Vet, we do everything in our power to help you both feel comfortable every step of the way. We will provide your pet with comfort treatments to ensure they are relaxed on the day of surgery, and utilizing our own facilities will ensure they stay close to home throughout the process.
